Coot Quotes and Observations

“There were few who preferred honor to money.” Gaius Crispus

“A wise man hears one word and understands two” Yiddish proverb.

“It is not more people that are needed in the world but better people, physically, morally and mentally. This question of raising the quality of our American population must also be taken into account in the question of immigration.” Agnes E. Meyer

“I think unity is a mistake…. If I were the Establishment and had the big loaded guns of the various oppressive institutions…. I would much prefer to see one lion come through the door than 500 mice.” Florynce R. Kenned

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
John F. Kennedy

Yes, folks, it is quote time. The Disgruntled Old Coot left the shanty, mentally strolling through the Web and grabbing quotes attracting my attention.

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.
Henry Ford

I cannot help fearing that men may reach a point where they look on every new theory as a danger, every innovation as a toilsome trouble, every social advance as a first step toward revolution, and that they may absolutely refuse to move at all.
Alexis de Tocqueville

Occupiers, 99 per centers, ponder the revolution-related-type quotes.

There is MUCH truth in some of them!

Not all quotes are limited to the traditional “format” of quote followed by author’s name.

Look at this:  ———————————————>

That is a quote though the author is not known.

Some “quotes” are more akin to declarations or orders.

Consider the following:

A “point” is being sent to the reader. That personal liberty/freedom/whatever is in peril from an arm of the federal-level USA legal/law enforcement systems.

I believe whoever created the sign assumed that We, the People are aware of the immense amount of GOOD deeds/acts, etc. done by the FBI but, sadly, the immense bureaucracy that is the FBI and too many of the bureaucrats and their underlings within are loyal to pay/pension/benefits/etc. instead of We, the People.

Not all! But too many.

Consider Ruby Ridge, Idaho, Waco, TX and other places and events where the FBI and many other branches and types of law enforcement brought the heels of their “jack-boots” down upon the exposed necks of law-abiding citizens not proven guilty of any crime.

Regarding the Waco affair; my uncle was a hardened Marine Corps veteran who was in World War 2 at Guadalcanal, Saipan and other battles. For the Korean Conflict he was in charge of a machine-gun platoon and was at Inchon, the “Frozen Chosin” and other battles.

He also served two terms as a county sheriff in a rural area where, at times, problems were solved by administering a STERN talking to at the offender and, if needed, a couple smacks in the alley outside the bar.

Before you scream in outrage, the locals were very happy with the methods used. Even those smacked would express gratitude for having avoided jail and economic penalties and admitted their misbehavior.

Can you politically correct “new age” wimps understand? If not, try living in a rural area away from either coast, in the middle of “fly over country” and perhaps you will slowly learn how others live.

How about actually embracing that “mantra of diversity” the PC mob constantly spews? Some folks in some parts of the USA prefer that a non-PC method of local law enforcement be used.

As I sat in uncle’s house discussing the Waco affair from its start to deadly conclusion my uncle labeled the FBI and other law enforcement agencies involved as a bunch of wimps, wannabes and that those actually killing USA citizens and especially their leaders…all the way to the top… President Clinton, Janet Reno and the huge horde of bureaucrats involved as idiots.

He was more lenient towards the brainwashed bureaucratic lackeys who actually did the attacking, murdering fellow citizens. But he did say that real men would have said NO and walked away.

I asked what would have been the best way to handle the situation and he told of several ways and that from what he saw via TV coverage and statements made by local law enforcement in the Waco area that there were ample opportunities to arrest Koresh, the leader of those who offended the ruling class, long before the raid.

Uncle then said that the raid was likely done the way it was to make an impression upon the public; to obey. Or else. Another reason was to allow the rookies involved to play “soldier.”

Watching clips of the prior TV coverage the current TV show used while the commentators discussed the past events Uncle pointed out how amateurish the attacking murdering federal lackeys were.

Sigh…………..

Back to the quotes.  Just remember to OBEY the master ruling class or their jack-booted thugs may be turned against YOU!

We have two American flags always: one for the rich and one for the poor. When the rich fly it means that things are under control; when the poor fly it it means danger, revolution, anarchy.
Henry Miller

The seed of revolution is repression.
Woodrow Wilson

The American Revolution was a beginning, not a consummation.
Woodrow Wilson

A reform is a correction of abuses; a revolution is a transfer of power.
Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton

I truly and sincerely wish that the USA can reform at least a few aspects of itself. I DO!

Sadly, after decades of living life with open eyes, ears and mind, I am forced to believe that no meaningful change is possible.

Voting is meaningless. Especially at the federal level. I believe that for many reasons too complicated to mention here.

Web researching will lead those truly interested to many Web sites where writers with much better minds than mine explain reasons I believe may enlighten those willing to cast off at least some of the life-long propaganda/indoctrination all of us has been deluged with.

No one makes a revolution by himself; and there are some revolutions which humanity accomplishes without quite knowing how, because it is everybody who takes them in hand.
George Sand

All civilization has from time to time become a thin crust over a volcano of revolution.
Henry Ellis

Only since the Industrial Revolution have most people worked in places away from their homes or been left to raise small children without the help of multiple adults, making for an unsupported life.
Martha Beck

Modern USA society is just that… modern.  Most of human societies, past and present, have been unlike what the general USA society in general has been since the Industrial Revolution.

The “Information Revolution” is not changing our society at many levels and areas.

What does appear to be changing society a lot is the decades-long INTENSE transfer of USA wealth from many hands to a small minority of hands.

Other countries and societies are apparently undergoing the transfer of wealth from the many to the few.

Our society has been altered in MANY ways and is undergoing HUGE changes now.

Economic, political changes and more. And too many of those at the middle and bottom of the socio-economic pile is hurting. Some badly!

As I said before; go out upon the Web and read what the MANY writers with better minds than mine have to say about societal changes over the years and economic and job changes and so many other aspects of society that have and are changing and both the good and bad that resulted from those changes.

Sadly, it appears and I am convinced that the bad has outweighed the good in too many ways.

A revolution is an act of violence whereby one class shatters the authority of another.
James MacGregor Burns

Revolution as an ideal concept always preserves the essential content of the original thought: sudden and lasting betterment.
Johan Huizinga

It may be impossible to have a revolution without crimes but that does not make revolution a crime.
Jose Bergamin

When the Industrial Revolution of the nineteenth century brought a rapid increase in wealth, the demand of workers for a fair share of the wealth they were creating was conceded only after riots and strikes.
John Boyd Orr

And the elite class, corporate USA and others used every available means to alter existing systems and create new ones to allow a new style of ever-upwards movement of wealth into the hands of the few.

The advent of modern technology, mass media and the continued advancement of arts and sciences led to the most efficient indoctrination methods ever created.

Mass media, the USA’s many educational systems, modern marketing methods, so MANY ways to implant ideas, beliefs, etc. into the minds of all those immersed within USA culture, sub-cultures, etc.

There is no way to escape all the brainwashing.

Merely living on the fringe of society exposes one to enough propaganda to affect one’s mind, beliefs, persona, etc.

Unavoidable due to humans being a social creature, a “pack animal.”

Our culture and the sub-culture(s) we live within affects us.

Many studies and much research indicates that the socio-economic group we grow up within deeply affects what we become as adults.

Research also shows that very little of what enters our brains, minds, personalities… all that makes us what we are as an individual human, can be changed to any extent after those vital formative years.

Go for it. The decades I devoted to reading non-fiction via the printed word within library books is now easily found and accessible on the Web. It is merely up to YOU if you desire to enlighten yourself or you feel compelled to verify what I write or wish to disagree with my opinions.

I DO want the reader of my words to know I have to write in generalities.

I am well-aware that exceptions exist in all I write about.

But, please, do not be the too-often-confronted spewing brainwashed lackey of those who indoctrinated you by babbling about the ONE or minute number of exceptions.

Especially when reputable studies, research or the multiple agreeing opinions of many educated folks indicate that the masses of confirmed “back-ups” for linked-to statements or my written beliefs are, in actuality, the norm.

And, let it be known that I can usually detect implanted elite-class indoctrination many of those disagreeing with me spew by the same old terms and buzz words used.

It is as if those disagreeing are reciting from memory. Recalling memorized statements or short arguments. So little original thought-out rebuttals or disagreements; just the same old tripe.

At least educate yourselves so as to allow some originality in your rebuttal.

What a thrill it would be to read thought-out, rational, based-upon-logic reading or study-backed disagreements to what I and others proclaim.

It merely saddens me when I am constantly confronted with what is implanted doctrine placed by those who have created such an immense herd of “brain-dead” bleating citizen-sheep that have allowed, even promoted, the existing and worsening socio-economic conditions within the USA of immense advantage to the few at the extreme cost to the many.

In economic panics throughout history, the wiping out of the savings accounts of lower earners and the middle class has often led to social revolution, sometimes violent upheavals.
Nick Clooney

You can jail a Revolutionary, but you can’t jail the Revolution.
Huey Newton

Revolution is not a goal in itself.
Ernest Mandel

The Roosevelt enactment of Social Security was a moral revolution in our country: We were assured that we would never reach the very depths of poverty. And to be told, that we are now going to gamble it, on Wall Street, is nonsense!
Arthur Hertzberg

**********

Too complicated to get into but recall the not-long-ago elite-owned media coverage of altering Social Security (SS)? I have not witnessed any mention of placing new funds into “Wall Street” lately.

A scam, I believe, for the elite-class and corporate USA’s benefits and to strip even more wealth from the hands of those with only a minute percentage of the USA’s wealth.

The greedy vermin at the top appear to want it ALL!

**********

And you cannot have a socialist revolution commandeered from the top, ordered around by some omniscient leader or group of leaders.
Ernest Mandel

It is with great sadness that I believe the ruling-class masters would resort to the above if they felt that We, the People were truly a danger to their status, their power, all that has allowed them to accumulate such vast amounts of wealth and power.

Would military officers obey their master’s orders? Would the troops below those officers obey?

Perhaps the Oath Keepers who appeared before the Occupiers and 99 per centers and their “Ten orders we will not obey” would prevent the military from engaging in what is murder of the American citizens.

But history shows the elites’ and corporate USA  structures and systems designed to force We, the People to obey will do whatever they are ordered to do.

And such is the power of propaganda and brainwashing.
