The humble harmonious Coot placed a comment upon a message board discussing the horrible economic problems in Spain and Greece.
As typical, the majority of comments were made by ill-educated folks who spew their knee-jerk rhetoric that, to me, was obviously placed within their brainlets via the propaganda all of us are bombarded with throughout life.
Of course the Disgruntled one was compelled to toss in yet another worthless opinion.

A couple decades or so ago a prominent “Beltway” think tank (I forget the name) performed a comprehensive study attempting to determine that actual percentage of income the average USA citizen pays in taxes.
Omitted were fuel taxes and other such taxes that are intended to maintain an infrastructure such as roads.
Some taxes are easily avoided; do not drive or smoke or drink alcohol, etc.
Other taxes are harder to avoid such as sales tax and property tax.
Even renters pay property tax via their rent payment.
The study was extremely difficult to perform for many reasons.
No definitive conclusion could be reached; just too many variables.
Remember, folks, there are hidden taxes everywhere such as business taxes passed along in the price of goods and services.
We, the People, pay more for everything due to hidden taxes!!!
I forget the many results arrived at based upon the various scenarios used in the study.
What I do recall is the worst-case scenario; that the average USA citizen working for an income may have a total tax bill around 75 percent of his/her income.
The hidden taxes were a large percentage of the tax amount.
Remember, generally, the end consumer pays all taxes no matter how much corporations/businesses are taxed.
The products and services they offer include that tax.
The apologists and lackeys of those paying higher federal income tax rates typically lambaste the lower classes for paying little to no tax.

It is typical for the working-poor and above to actually pay MORE in taxes as a percentage of income when ALL taxes are factored in.
Just another example of the ongoing class war.

I commonly add the quotes within my comments since I believe they make a powerful statement.
And coming from a known person such as Warren Buffet the words have much more impact than the babblings of a nobody, a scum, vermin commoner such as I, the Disgruntled Old Coot huddled in his hovel trying to isolate himself as much as possible from the inanity surrounding me.
The ruling elite masters and their cronies use the mass media to great effect in ensuring their fiefdom, their kingdom, their realm is protected.
The well-paid lackeys spewing propaganda at the masses are made to appear as if their opinions are much more valuable than those mere commoner scum who offer their opinion(s).
